The first regional event in the new marathon season takes place at Wolfreton on Sunday 6th October.
This is your chance to book a place to represent the club in next yearโs Hasler Finals at which you get the chance to compete with paddlers from all over the UK.
The club has a good variety of boats available for you to use ranging from Lightnings (under 12) through youth and adult K1s โ Espada (youth) Tempest (stability 10); Pulsar (stability 8); Tor (stability 6); Eclipse (stability 3/4) and a selection of K2s and Canoes. Some private boats can also be borrowed by arrangement.
Juniors compete in age graded divisions over 2 or 3 miles. Youths (under 14) can enter Division 10 (singles) racing 4 miles. Novices (older teens and adults) usually start in Division 9 (4 miles) and progress to longer, more challenging races based on their ability.
Marathon training will take place on Thursday this week (26th) and Tuesday 1st October. Come and give it a try!
There will also be training sessions arranged throughout the winter depending on conditions and demand. Saturday afternoon and Tuesday evening (torchlit) are possible.
The entry form and details for the Wolfreton Marathon will be available at the club on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
