Disabled Footpath access from existing car park to the jetty on the River Ancholme
The path will provide access for wheelchair users from the existing disabled parking car park in front of the leisure centre to the jetty on the River Ancholme, and also access to the jetty and the Ancholme Leisure Centre from both our boathouse pedestrian doors.
This helps us achieve our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion commitments in providing wheelchair access to the jetty, but it will also be a great benefit to all our club members and guests, as well as the general public using the jetty.

“A massive Thank you to North Lincolnshire Council Community Grant for £15k that has been awarded to our club. Along with club funds we will now be able to build a path across from the river to the side of the leisure centre, improving access for all.

A lot of hard work has gone into securing this funding, starting with gaining planning permission for the path in 2025 (PA/2025/238).
One of the planning conditions is that we have to submit a Biodiversity Gain Plan before we can start construction of the path. This will involve converting the grass bank next to our carpark into a wild flower bank, and for this we may require some volunteers! More of that later!
The next step is we will be meeting later this month with the installer to agree the exact route of the path, and we hope to have the path finished this year.
