Brigg Hasler Sunday 26th April
This coming Sunday we are hosting a Hasler Marathon Event. All club members can enter this even if you have never paddled a racing boat before.
- You can enter the 6.5km race in any type of boat – Kayak, Canoe, Paddleboard.
- If you are 14 and under (Jan 1st 2026) you can enter a special 3km race.
- Costs are £10 for adults; £6 for Under 18s and £3 for the 3km race.
- If there is demand we will run a fun race for adults and youths over the 3km course.
- Racing starts at 12 noon but you need to be there by 11:00 to get registered and boats sorted .

Tuesday 21st April Session
We are running our regular marathon session this Tuesday 21st April at 6:30 on the water. If you are training for our race then pop down, or if you are interested in finding out more about our race on Sunday you too are welcome to pop down for a chat (and maybe get on the water). Please be there for 6:00pm at the latest if you can.
(don’t forget we are also running are general skills session this Tuesday and Thursday)
South Lakes Report
The Three Amigos enjoy a good day at south Lakes Hasler!
Sue, Helen and Graham had an enjoyable time at Carnforth for the South Lakes marathon (on a canal!!!!).
Sue and Helen were the only Div 8 K2 and so were guaranteed first place. They started alongside Div 8 Singles and Div 9 doubles and left them all behind from the off. They then chased two Div 7 singles up the canal – overtaking one before the 3km turn and making good ground on the other. That means their time will be better than the Div 7 singles.
Graham was in a mixed start of Div 6 singles, Div 6 doubles and Div 7 singles. He left them all behind at the start but the Div 6 doubles boat passed him after a kilometre. He then held off the other Div 6 singles paddler for the first 9km but was overtaken and forced into second place.
All three of us were medal winners but Sue chose a Cadbury Cream Egg instead of a medal which she then ate before we had the photo taken.
