How to Rescue Pointy Boats

SOME USEFUL VIDEOS – How do you rescue pointy boats? NEVER DO AN X RESCUE!!!!

Graham has put a selection of British Canoeing (PaddleUK) videos onto the club website and you can access them either by visiting the club website – selecting downloads>marathon>pointy boat rescue techniques, or by clicking here

Technique Videos

Critique your technique! Martin has taken some videos of last Saturdays session. They are a bit shaky, but he’ll bring his tripod next time!

Can you spot what you can do better! Discuss with our coaches if you want! You can watch the videos by clicking here

Tuesday Training

Congrats to all our Tuesday evening paddlers. We have now re-started our Tuesday evening marathon coaching and training.

Sharon joined us for a first try in a Polypippin and did the White House. Matilda went almost all the way to Cadney Bridge (a round trip of 5 miles) so she is clearly preparing herself for promotion. Oscar also did the whole trip to Cadney and back so is, also, preparing for next year when he will no longer be eligible to race in Geoff Sanders. Louie took out his lovely Apollo 60 (Stability 2) for its first long run and made it to Cadney and (almost) back to the club before checking the water temperature. Phil foolishly said he wanted to try a 2 person boat and joined Graham in the green K2. He did really well and we survived a trip past the pumping station and back. We even managed to chat along the way. Graham is slowly recovering from the experience!!!!!!!

Brigg Hasler Official Results

Official results are now available at https://entries.canoemarathon.org.uk/results/races and I can now confirm that Matthew was promoted to Div 5; Louie to Div 6 and Ben to GSA. Well done all of you.

Forthcoming events

April 21st is Nottingham Hasler – I would like to take a team to this as it will give our paddlers a chance to experience bigger, more competitive fields. I will be taking entries on Tuesday and Saturday. Saturday April 27th is our Sprints event. Book it in your diary NOW!
