Change to PSR course on Saturday 29th July

Because we didn’t get enough attendees to justify spending the Shepaddles bursary money, we have decided to make a change to tomorrow’s course.

Instead of the previously advertised Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course for Ladies, we are instead putting on British Canoeing’s Paddle Safer Course for male and female members.

The Paddle Safer course is also more training/teaching focused to get the paddlers to the required level for PSRC and we will run the funded PSRC course later.

As this course is now not a Shepaddles funded course we are opening it up to male and female paddlers, but this course will run even if we only have the 4 who have so far committed. (Jemima. Sonia, Kate and Hannah Allen)

Pre-Requisites:

You need to be able to control your chosen craft (closed cockpit kayak, sit on top kayak, canoe or SUP) such that you can approach a swimmer safely. If you are paddling in a closed cockpit kayak you must be confident wearing a spraydeck.

The course will start at 10am and please bring a packed lunch. Under 18’s will need a parent or designated guardian in attendance.

If you want a place on this course tomorrow, please reply to coaching@gscc-online.com or message us on our Facebook post.
