Garry Clayton – GSCC Coach

You may or may not have heard that GSCC member, coach and friend, Garry Clayton, has sadly passed away. Garry has been living with an incurable brain tumour for over 4 years and died peacefully in his sleep on 11th July at home. We offer our condolences to Bethan on behalf of all the Management Committee, coaches, volunteers, and club members.

It was a pleasure to coach Garry when he first joined us and then to later welcome him as one of our coaches. To attain his Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport was a fantastic achievement.

Garry’s funeral is 10th August, 11:20am at Scunthorpe Crematorium, followed by a wake at Heslam Park (Scunthorpe Rugby Club).

Instead of flowers, Garry’s wife Bethan is asking that anyone who feels that they would like to, please visit the JustGiving page by clicking here, or on the photo below where you can make a donation to support some of the most amazing charities and groups that helped support Garry and Bethan over the last four years.
