We have a massive Bank Holiday weekend ahead!

Saturday 26th: River Festival
Sunday 27th: morning: Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon
Sunday 27th afternoon: Ancholme Rowing Club 150th Anniversary BBQ

On Saturday 26th it is the Ancholme River Festival where your family and friends can try kayak, canoe, SUP and rowing. This is joint venture with our friends at the Ancholme Rowing Club and is the fourth year we have run it. The actual paddling is primarily for the general public to have a go, but that includes your family and friends who don’t paddle with us, so bring them down. It starts at 10:00 am and runs until 3:00pm. Last year we had over 120 paddlers!

Club member are welcome to attend as volunteer helpers. this includes coaches and non -coaches. There are leaflets to give out in the market place and hopefully we’ll have a couple of well positioned tables with advertising, which will need volunteers to man. We also need help with filling in registration forms and getting the public kitted up. If you can spare some time, please let us know. During quiet times you can have a paddle! (but the general public get priority!)

On Sunday morning 27th it is the Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon, based at the leisure centre. This is open water swimming, kayaking, cycling and running. Our boathouse will be open and we are again providing safety cover for the swim and kayak race. We even have a few members taking part, so come and support them! It’s a great spectacle and worth a visit so come and watch!

On Sunday afternoon 27th, straight after the bomber we are invited, to the Ancholme Rowing Club’s 150th anniversary BBQ from 12:00 pm. All club members are welcome and it will be an opportunity to have a paddle and a bit of fun, and you can try rowing too! If you think you’d like to attend it is free and the ARC will be providing burgers and sausages so would like an indication or how many are coming. Please let us know ASAP by replying to this email or by posting on our message on our facebook page. Please bring your own drinks and any additional food, (like your favourite steak for the BBQ!) It might be worth bringing some chairs too.
