Consultation Update

1.    New boats: Our fleet of new boats have arrived ready for the river season. This means we can leave our pool boats permanently in the pool. We have taken delivery of:

  • 6 Dagger Dynamos
  • 4 Dagger GTX 8.1
  • 5 Dagger Axiom 9.0
  • We have also bought 5 second-hand boats from Grimsby that are virtually new.

2.    Paths and access:  We are still in discussion with North Lincolnshire council (our landlords) and we are waiting for their response

3.    Changing facilities: Our changing room sub-committee (Iain, martin and Michelle) have obtained  quotes and are currently going through the detail design process with the chosen supplier. If all goes to plan there will be eleven single unisex cubicles and one disables/family cubicle in place in place by the end of April

4.    Boat storage: This is complete as mentioned in our February newsletter. to recap, we have disposed of most of our un-used boats, moved the main rack and Graham and Sue have built a new marathon boat rack.

5.    Improve communal area: Work is progressing on the updated kitchen area. Iain and Martin have this week installed a new serving counter and started a new paddlers handwash area. This layout is designed to keep muddy paddlers out of the kitchen! The counter is also lower than a normal kitchen counter so our little’uns can view Jean’s extensive selection of sweets for sale! The paddlers sink has a splashback to keep the sweet table clean.

In the photos below we still have to fit a facia to the “customer” sides of the counter, and to fit the sink into the paddlers hand wash area. Also trims and sealant need adding. This should be finished for the Brigg Marathon on 24th March.
