GSCC are taking part in British Canoeing’s annual “The Big Paddle clean Up” this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Part 1 on Tuesday evening we were joined by British Canoeing’s Club Support Officer, Phil Scowcroft. We went north to the motorway bridge, then down the old river to the county bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There wasn’t actually that much litter, which was good to see, though we did still collect a few bags of plastic bottles etc. Our main finds were a section of barrier fencing, two traffic sign stands and a fire extinguisher!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was then back to the boathouse for soup and hotdogs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part 2 is on Thursday when we will attempt the southern section! All GSCC welcome to join in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
