Our club’s Hasler Marathon event is less than TWO weeks away and we need YOU! to make it a success — either as a paddler or a bank-side volunteer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every paddler can enter in ANY boat. Adults and over 14s have a 4 mile race whilst our youngest paddlers can choose to do 2 miles. We have boats available to suit all abilities and you can come and give it a try beforehand on Saturday at 1:45 (on the water for 2pm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the event to be a success we need a team of volunteers. We already have the catering covered (all donations of cakes will be welcome) but also need some extra bank-side assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) Assistant starter and timer
2) Car park marshals
3) Turn marshalls
4) Shepherd for the juniors (on the water)
5) Jetty supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can help with any of these tasks please let me know, either in person at the pool on Saturday or by emailing me (disciplines@<\/a>gscc-online.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to have fun and enter the race, I will need to know by Thursday 13th October. If you have not raced with us before I will need your name, gender and date of birth; email address and postcode plus your British Canoeing number (if you are already a member).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entry fee is Adults \u00a38; Juniors \u00a36 (4 miles) Under 14s \u00a32.50 (2 miles)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you can’t help or paddle please come along and support our club. Cheer us all on and buy lots of cakes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
