{"id":3431,"date":"2020-03-21T15:58:01","date_gmt":"2020-03-21T15:58:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gscc-online.com\/news\/?p=3431"},"modified":"2020-03-21T15:58:01","modified_gmt":"2020-03-21T15:58:01","slug":"staying-active","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gscc-online.com\/news\/2020\/03\/21\/staying-active\/","title":{"rendered":"Staying Active"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear all, I have been asked by a number of paddlers\u201d how can you still stay active during this crisis?\u201d This is what BC has to say on the matter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe coronavirus crisis is unprecedented in modern times and it could have a significantly negative impact on the nation\u2019s physical activity levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst all face to face activities and events should be cancelled, where possible, paddlers at all levels are encouraged to keep active during this time, whilst following government&nbsp;guidelines about hygiene, safe distance and safe exercise environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>British Canoeing are looking to produce some advice and guidance on continuing to paddle independently. If any event organisers, clubs or paddlers have any innovative ideas please let us know!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know some experienced paddlers will continue to take to the water and as it says above so long as you don\u2019t endanger others BC are not saying that should stop. Club boats and equipment will not be available during this time so please don\u2019t ask us to open up the boathouse you will need to use all your own kit.
