Safeguarding is crucial to the club: The Under 18 policy below apples to river and pool sessions. 

• GSCC’s preferred method of supervision for all under 18s is for the parents/guardians/carers to be present at the session. 
• If the parents/guardians/carers is not present at the session, the parents/guardians/carers of under 18s is to have an informal arrangement with another known trusted family friend (over 18), who takes on this responsibility. This arrangement needs to be made known to the bookings officer or organising coach on arrival.
• GSCC also supports the independence of young people aged 14 through to their 18th birthday but only with written agreement by the Parent/Carer. See the policy link below for more details.
