Kayaks Delivered to Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Our Old Kayaks Upcycled!

Iain, Michelle, Graham, Martin and our club mascot “Lola the Polar” bear today delivered two trailer loads of old kayaks to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, a belated Birthday present for their very grateful Polar Bears Hamish, Indy, Yuma and Talla!

The team at YWP were more than happy to accept this donation and they can’t wait to see the kayaks being put to good use by their boisterous bears very soon.

We don’t know when they will be given to the bears to play with, so if you are going to YWP in the near future look out for them! If you get any photos please send them to Martin at publicity@gscc-online.com of post them on our Facebook page.

It all started last Thursday with the boats being stripped of their seats and footrests:

Lola the Polar bear couldn’t resist playing in them:

The kayaks were loaded up on two trailers last night and we set off this morning to deliver them. Lola tried to sneak a ride on the trailer!:

We were met by the team from YSP who were very pleased to receive the kayaks;

They weren’t put in the enclosures strait away, but Lola wanted to see her big brothers and sisters in Project Polar:

Lola desperately wanted to join them:

Lola jumped over the fence and Michelle had to go after her……has anyone seen Michelle?!
