Here’s a message from Michelle Bourne, our Fundraising Officer:
“Back in July this year some of you will know that I applied on behalf of GSCC, to Brigg Biomass Plant Community Fund for funding, as they provide grants to groups in the community.
The bid I was submitted was to encourage and support people onto the river who are less confident in an enclosed kayak or if they have a disability that means they would benefit from been inside a canoe with other people. The equipment can be used by existing members whilst also encouraging new people to “give it a go”.
We applied for funding for:
- 2 x Katakanu boats
- 8 x tootega plus 85 sit on top boats
- 8 x paddles
- 14 x buoyancy aids
- 10 x boat licences
Well I am thrilled to say that our bid was successful and we will be awarded £7847 by Brigg Biomass Plant Community Fund, to be spent with immediate effect on the above equipment
Thank you so much to everyone who provided me with the information I needed for the grant application. Happy Paddling.”
