Boathouse Improvements

We have been working hard through the winter months to improve the boathouse for next summer. Much thanks to Neil Marley and Jim McCague for doing most of the work, ably assisted by Iain, (a bit of plumbing) and people from the Tuesday and Thursday training sessions who help moving kit (I don’t have names of all who have helped, but you know who you are).

As can be seen below, they have re-painted the floor (still some to do, particularly the kitchen area and changing rooms), installed new racking, moved the exciting racking, installed a hot water heater and installed wires to hang the the PFD’s and spraydecks on.

The new racking in position in front of the rear doors, which obviously cannot be used to access the building anymore. In the middle is the relocated racing boat rack and on the right the existing racking has been moved towards the river side of the boathouse
The new racking in position. Thanks to Neil and unnamed others for this.
Jim and Neil pleased with themselves after finishing re-painting the main area.
New PFD and spraydeck storage wires. Thanks to Jim for this.
This photo shows the main rack moved nearer to the river. maintaining fire escape access. It also shows the new PFD storage.
