August Sessions

August river sessions are “Pay and Paddle” on a first-come-first-served basis for kit. There is no need to book but it would help us if you could let us know that you will be paddling in August so we can gauge numbers. If a session is full when you arrive, we will do our best to put on a second session if you don’t mind waiting.

We do this because of it being the school holidays and many of you (and our coaches) will be away at some point.

Cost is still £5 per person and we will still be putting you in groups so you can carry on with your awards.

Contacting our Bookings Number

When contacting our bookings number (07759 623258), can you please send a text message rather than trying to phone and speak to Frankie in person? This number is for the club only and Frankie checks it regularly for messages.

Signing in

Can ALL paddlers please sign in at the desk before joining your group or getting on the water. This applies to social paddlers too. We need to know how many are on the water under our Duty of Care.

Social Paddling

Can we please remind all paddlers that if you are “social paddling”, that is, you are not on a course, that you must adhere to the club rules:

  • You must be of 2 star or Discovery standard (not necessarily having your 2 star or Discovery). It is at the senior coaches discretion that you can paddle
  • You have signed in
  • You have paid you £2. The charge is because you are using the club’s facilities, (changing, launching, third party insurance etc), and you still are under the clubs Duty of Care. It is also to only fair and reasonable to pay a small charge when others are paying the full £5 for a course.

Thanks for you co-operation, and we’ll see you in August!

Our friends at North Lincolnshire Council have asked if we can help raise awareness of the forthcoming Tour of Britain cycle race stage that is coming to our area in September.

Here’s the Latest “Class of 2017″ photos up to and including last Tuesday’s session..We currently have 38 girls and 38 boys, so it’s neck and neck at the moment! Have we got any duplicates and is anyone missing? Let Martin know and we’ll get you added/removed!With our 17 registered coaches (I think) that makes 93 paddlers this year, but there must be more!

Ignore the date on the poster, that’s when the folder they are in was created.

Our Members’ Handbook can now be downloaded by clicking here or on the cover below.

You can read it on your favourite device, and clicking on any item in the index will take you to that section.

It is also designed to be printed on A4 paper as an A5 folded booklet. To do that depends on your printer (it needs to be able to print double sided and have an option to print as a booklet). Note that on some printers the default margin compresses the page and our logo looks oval! (my Hewlett Packard for one). On Xerox printers prints fine.

Please let me know of any errors!
