You are probably aware we have a television in the boathouse that is used only for club advertisements or the ergo kayak trainer software. It is not connected to an aerial and we do not watch broadcast television.
We have just renewed our declaration with TV Licencing for the next three years that we do not need a TV licence.
While you are attending a session you may of course watch TV on your personal telephone or device (using you own tv licence), but…
Your device must be run on batteries. If you plug the device into our mains while watching TV then the club will need a licence or can be fined £1000.
Please do not plug any device capable of receiving TV into our mains sockets while watching TV!
