YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!

On Saturday a small group of marathon paddlers completed a five mile training run from the club to Cadney Bridge and return in just over an hour.

The weed has significantly cleared and we had no problems apart from a few strands caught on rudders.

It’s now less than a week away from the Manvers Marathon race on Sunday 3rd October and it would be great to get as many paddlers as possible to represent the club.

This event is suitable for all standards of paddler.  Marathons can be completed in any boat but obviously pointy boats go faster.

Any junior paddlers (under 14 on 1st January 2021) who have tried marathon canoeing are welcome to enter the 2 mile races (cost £4)

Any others who have not done marathon before can enter the Division 9 (4 miles).  Cost is £6 for under 18s and £8 for adults.

We are currently the holders of the Regional Marathon Trophy and would like to win it again this season.

So! Come along, have a good day out and win points for the club.

Contact me disciplines@gscc-online.com to enter and reserve club equipment if necessary.  Entry fees can be paid on the day.

I can also take entries at the club on Tuesday when we will hold a marathon training/come&try session and on Thursday at the end-of-season barbecue.

I need to get all entries in by Thursday night.

This Saturday at 2pm I will be holding another marathon practice session at the club when we will be able to load up boats and other equipment required.
